  • The Ford Family Foundation was founded by Kenneth and Hallie Ford to give back to their rural, timber communities. Our mission is “Successful Citizens and Vital Rural Communities.” In the early childhood arena, we aim to complete this mission by focusing on and investing in young children’s health, quality early care and education, and strong families so that children enter Kindergarten ready to succeed.

  • Our reason for joining ECFC:

We look forward to learning alongside our national peers. We joined the ECFC because we know we have more to learn and share about partnering effectively with: individuals caring for/educating young children, non-profits, philanthropic peers and the public sector on issues related to school readiness. We also believe that we have a unique perspective to share about working in rural communities.

  • Where our work is focused:

Rural Oregon and Siskiyou County California

What we want to work on with our peers:

Early childhood mental health; Alignment of early childhood sector professional development.
